Background

Keep an easily accessible future proof log of books you own, have read, or someone has recommended to you – no matter where it exists: As a hardback on your bookshelf, on a Kindle or other.

You can mark each book with Read or Have, and select to only view the books you have yet to read or acquire – ideal if it has yet to be added to your library.

Logging a book

  1. Select VIEW > Book
  2. Fill in as many fields as you wish.
  3. To rate a book, click or touch the Pi Pie pi-pie
  4. No Genre appropriate to the book? Feel free to contact us with suggestions.
  5. If you have acquired the book and select how from the Have drop down menu, you are then prompted to (optionally) input the price so that when future Pi financial reporting features are made available, you can, for fun or interest, find out how much you have spent on books.
  6. Click Save to save.

Viewing & managing your book log

  1. Select VIEW > Book
  2. Use the various filters to govern which books appear.
  3. To sort the list by preferred attribute (TITLE, AUTHOR PUBLISHER etc), click the appropriate column heading. To reverse the sort order, click the heading again.
  4. To Edit the details for a specific book, click the edit edit-control-tecterran-50-25 control in the ACTION column.
  5. Delete a book entry by clicking the red trash Delete icon in the ACTION column – careful, you cannot undo a delete!

Displaying books you have yet to read

If both the READ and HAVE menus for a specific book are set to No, then Pi will assume you have yet to read that book. This makes it easy for you to organise your Wanted books.

  1. Ensure the Want filter checkbox at the top of the log is switched on.
  2. Click the READ table heading such that books marked as No are at the top of your list.
